The Minor Lines: Our Conscious Self

In addition to the three major lines there are many other significant lines and signs. Three of the most important minor lines in the hand are the destiny line, the Sun line, and the Mercury line. In Sanskrit they are known as Karma rekha, Surya rekha, and Buddh rekha.

The quadrangle is a significant indicator of mental and emotional harmony.

The minor lines reflect our conscious awareness. They indicate how connected we are to our deepest soul nature or how distracted we are by the changing environment around us. These lines indicate how we experience life on a conscious level and reflect our thoughts and attitudes, as well as the behaviors that we exhibit.

The minor lines create a channel for the conscious expression of our superconscious (mounts) and subconscious (major lines). They act as an interface for our soul to express itself in our everyday conscious behavior. Their presence indicates a conscious awareness and attunement (buddhi) to our deepest self. When these lines are crossed by interference lines, are broken, or are missing, however, the conscious connection with our soul nature is disrupted. We become overidentified with the demands of our environment and lose our sense of inner peace.
